Chioma Wodu – A Yellow Man – London Hip Hop

Every now and then I lose hours trawling SoundCloud, trying to find gems, finds that nobody else has yet cottoned on to. The gold. The good stuff. Most of the time it’s dodgy demo’s and badly recorded, badly put together tracks that need a lot of polishing, but about 6 months ago I came across the achingly beautiful vocals of one Bubblerap, AKA Chioma Wodu. And one third of hip hop outfit A Yellow Man.

A Yellow Man

A Yellow Man

I was instantly hooked by this young talents vocals, which have a Yukimi/Erykah/Triana flavour and only after doing a bit of research did I find tracks with her band A Yellow Man with brothers Emanuelle and Samuel on lyrical and production duties. Hip Hop with a message not too unlike the music from hip hop ambassadors Mos Def/Jurassic 5/Bambataa). This IS soulful hip hop with good vibes and pretty damn refreshing.

Have a listen and watch their 2 new beautifully shot videos that have been released today and watch this space!
