This geezer loves Reggae and even quit his role at Kiss when they reduced his show to 1 hour from 2, marginalising the sound and putting it back to a twilight slot. Big props to this man!

Being a graphic designer, you tend to get a boner sometimes for things many others would deem dull and inconsequential.

Every now and then for me, it’s a font that really gets the fires burning.

Yeah I know, it’s sad – but hear me out.

This is a new font by Pebl from the newly formed Type Foundry Formation Type. Created by Ian Clewett, it was inspired by pebbles he found on a beach in Snowdon.

Primal Scream are dusting off the cobwebs to play Kasbah on Friday 28th June, ahead of their Pyramid Stage performance before OAP Rockers, the Mother Fucking Rolling Stones at the festival the following night!

Creators of one of the finest albums of the 90′s ‘Screamadelica’, ( produced by Mr Andrew Weatherall ) the band need no real introduction and have always been putting out that unique Primal Scream sound for the past 20 years. This year will see the release of their tenth studio album ‘More Light’ next month (May).

I may not yet go as far as to call it a fire in the belly. More a rumbling in the tummy. But either way things are shaping up nicely for summer in Cov Town.

Last week I did something I rarely get chance to do and headed out in my dancing shoes.

Norman Jay the Good Times legend was in town and this was certainly cause for celebration. I once booked Norman to play myself and when I asked him how the gig had been for him he gleefully told me “the best”. The thing is with Norman you really get the impression that every gig he’s just played is the best he’s ever done. He loves it… and it shows the guy has been generating good times for decades and I’m pretty sure it’s because he just loves what he does… and it shows…

It’s safe to say on this occasion he didn’t disappoint playing all the hits and no fillers “Good Times” were certainly had. He played an eclectic mix from ska to house to drum and bass… and I’m pretty sure all the feet in the house were moving when he stuck on a fab version of Nancy Sinatras – These Boots were made for Walking.

Smiles all round it was a great crowd, busy but plenty of space to get your groove on. It’s not often this gal gives praise…but praise where praise is due – They’ve done good down at The Dog!

So come on folks… go support! There’s loads of good stuff coming up – The Herbaliser, Andrew Weatherall, Foals… and I hear rumours that Chk Chk Chk may be coming to town too!!

One of the hardest working men in all things paint/illustration/art – Philth has his first solo show tonight ‘Patterns & Matter’  (Friday 12 April 2013) at the Weapon of Choice Gallery on Park Street in Bristol and it’s gonna be pack out!

Philth has been hibernating getting things ready for this show over the past few months and some of the snippets he’s released that will be included in the show look devastatingly good.
